Client: Private Healthcare Provider, Milton Keynes

This scheme was created to unlock the space required to form a new MRI Suite within the hospital. The space previously occupied by the existing Physio Department was identified as best suited for the new scanner installation due to clinical adjacencies, patient pathways and the feasibility of the scanner delivery.

The new Physio Suite was designed and delivered by reconfiguring and refurbishing an existing ward. The challenge was accommodating the physio gym in the identified part of the hospital, which was single storey with low level ceilings and pitched truss roof.

To accommodate the required head height for the physio equipment, we designed the installation of a large dormer on the roof, lifting the ceiling height within the gym area and benefiting the space with natural light deep into the room.
