As part of this hospital’s Strategic Development Plan following the completion of the relocation of the Ophthalmology Suite into a new day hospital along with all Outpatient facilities, the space vacated in the acute hospital was freed up for more acute clinical services.

The space of the Ophthalmology Suite was reconfigured and refurbished into a new Operating Theatre Suite with a two bed Recovery Unit adjacent immediately next to the Ward, increasing the hospital throughput on surgeries required post-Covid with highly efficient pathways.
